I started out making the main panel by using this awesome wheat shaft with some chalk inks and embossing with clear embossing powder. Then, I used my pastels and colored the top portion with a blue and the bottom with a mossy green. Once that was finished, I added the 'metal' dragonfly brad and a sentiment. Finally, I added the ribbon and some of my many scraps along the bottom and attached the focal panel using dimensionals.
I've had these dragonflies for about 2 years ... and haven't used one yet..until now!! Thanks for the encouragement Trish!!
Now, off to see what the other Cookies have created for the tea party.
Now it is your time to play. Make a card using any stamps that follows the sketch and uses something metal. Then, leave a comment on any of our blogs and we'll share!! Come and have a little tea :D
Supplies: Stamps-FL-17 Wheat Shaft (smARTworks), Garden of Life (Papertrey Ink); Paper-Kraft, White (Stampin' Up!), designer paper (from my scrap bin); Ink-Yellow Ochre (Color Box chalk inks), Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up!)' Other-chalk pastels (Stampin' Up!), metal dragonfly (unknown-I've had them way too long), corner rounder, clear embossing powder, ribbon (Michaels).

Oh wow! What a beautiful card, nice and subdued for sympathy but with great details to really make an impact. Sympathy cards are so hard to do well, and you make it look so easy!
Beautiful card Donelda, you just remind me I have a bag with dragonflies too!!
God bless

So simple and so lovely! Great card, Donelda. BTW, no bag of dragonflies here, just tons and tons of snowflakes.
I have some of these dragonflies too! And like you, I've had half a dozen of them for 2-3 years, and have never used one...
Now that I see how nicely accented your card is, I'm asking myself why I've hoarded vs. used and enjoyed??? Thanks for the inspiration!
This is drop dead gorgeous!!!
This is soooo pretty! And since you've used a dragonfly, you've scored double warm fuzzies from me (I love 'em, and even used the as the motif in our nursery :) Way to use some of the stash!
This image is so soft and calm. I adore it. the dragonfly is adorable.
