I love being inspired by many things I see around me. The other day I was lookin at this crossword book and thought it would make an awesome card.
What I love even more is when the final result is even better than what I thought it would look like. I LOVE how this turned out!! I particulary love the backgrond paper that I made. I started out with a piece of kraft cardstock. Then I dragged my Walnut Stain ink (Ranger) across it to make some woodgrain marks. I then
covered it with a bit of Very Vanilla ink (Stampin' Up!). It looks so close to the book! Next I stamped on the leaves (Turning a New Leaf, Papertrey Ink) with Versamark and embossed them in white. I flipped the band to the bottom. It was stamped with the 'happy birthday' (from Birthday Basics, Papertrey Ink), the circle and 'friend' (from Paper Tray, Papertrey Ink) and the dotted lines (from Faux Ribbon, Papertrey Ink) and all embossed in white.
Love being inspired by .... all kinds of things!!
Thanks for dropping by!

Gorgeous card. The red strip makes it all fit together perfect. Great job.
What a great result. I like to look around me for inspiration too. Some of the simplest things are really quite eye catching.

You MADE that paper? WOW! This is one totally awesome card!
It took me a while to figure out where the card was...I thought both the pics were the inspiration!! hehe!
