I did one card, realized that I made a rectangle (slap forhead). As well, the rectangle card now has a layer on it .. gasp ... but it is only so because I stamped the darn sentiment on crooked! Hate it when that happens, so I just added a popped up sentiment that is straight! Because of my failure to remember to make the darn card square, I made a second card almost exactly the same but this time I did it in a 3x3 (I just used the smaller flower and leaf image and a smaller sentiment). I'm posting both because, while it looks like I just slapped that color in there, it does take a bit of work!!
Supplies: Friends 'Til the End, Birthday Basics, Mixed Messages (all Papertrey Ink); Paper - Very Vanilla (Stampin' Up!); Ink - Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up!), Sumer sunrise, Ripe Avacado (Papertrey Ink); Other - watercolor brush.
Here is a close up of the watercoloring effect. And here is the rectangle card I started with, sheesh!!
Thanks for dropping into my little corner of blogland today!

So pretty--I'm glad you posted both. Your coloring is so soft and wonderful.
I thought the same as you when I first read Susan's title for this week's challenge :o)
Your card is lovely!!
Awesome cards. I am glad as well that you posted both. Very very pretty.
Great cards, love the flower image especially as it's going off the edge:) x
very pretty!
I love the way your flower peeps out of the corner, the whole effect is soft and appealing,
Very pretty!
Both cards are just wonderful -- great stamps to use for the challenge! Love your coloring.
What a gorgeous card! I especially like the muted coloring and will try watercoloring with ink when I work on the OLW challenge tomorrow.
you picked the perfect place to put that flower. Very eye appealing!
beautiful! love them both!
Bwahahahaha!!! I LOVE it!! Your post makes me smile. I could have written it myself! LOL!! I LOVE, love, love the cards! The coloring is so neat...and great minds and all that...my card is so very similar!
Beautiful cards - The popped up sentiment on the second card only adds to its beauty, imho. One-layer cards are so tricky - your coloring is perfect!
All I can say is WOW! Beautiful!
This is so pretty! What a pretty stamp and I love the softness of both cards. I end up with lots of pop up sentiments. I rarely get them straight. I have a better success rate with the clear mount stamps. I'm considering converting all my sentiments to clear mount!
How funny that you also made a rectangular card at first! Both your cards are lovely and you're making me think about buying that floral set. ;)
I love that you stamped right on the cardstock them just shaded it a bit! Very wicked card girl! Hope you are having a good summer? Any hail or tornados for you???
This is fantastic! Love the off-the-edge look, and the colouring is marvellous. Spot-on!
And good on you for recycling your mistake! Well done ;)
Can't tell you how many times I've had to pop a sentiment on an otherwise one-layer card because it stamped crooked. Your save is PERFECT and looks quite intentional! The square version is just as lovely, and your coloring is so skilled and softens the image beautifully!
You have been a busy crafter and I have been a bad blogging buddy -- so many great cards to admire! The watercolor effect is absolutely perfect shading for this line image; it accents it beautifully! The CAS one layer lets it really take the center stage, too!!
Your card is stunning! What a stand-out!
