Image Holder and new stamps!

Well, I got my order from Stampin' Up. One of the sets that I had considered buying for a long time is the Wildlife Reserve set. It looks so versatile to me. I can see many of the images being usable for masculine cards and girly cards too!! And, the images look like great ones to color with Prismacolor pencil crayons or watercolor with ink. So I finally bought it!

So, here is my very first image from the set... a cute little chickadee. I am pretty sure this will be one of the most often used images as I love chickadees. I wanted to copy an idea from my friend Chris who sent me some images in a cute little "image holder". I cut some Night of Navy cardstock to replicate Chris' sample. Then, I used a piece of designer paper from DCWV Once Upon a Time paper pack. I sponged lightly around the edges with a bit of Night of Navy Ink. Before adhearing it, I added some navy ribbon underneath and around so it would tie shut. This was a bit different from Chris'. On hers, the ribbon was inside and came out using the slot punch. I don't own the slot punch, so I had to improvise (like usual).

I colored this in using my prismacolor pencil crayons. Sentiment is from two Papertrey Ink sets, the "for YOU" is from Limitless Labels and the word "friend" is from Mixed Messages. The circle is sponged lightly around the edges with Night of Navy ink.

You can see that I added some of the designer paper on the inside to decorate it. The images fit in perfectly (I measured it based on the size of the images I was sending - sorry no actual measurements to share).

I hope Chris likes her images and can reuse the image holder! I know I loved the one she sent me :-)

Thanks for visiting. Donelda

I am sure she will love them! What a terrific idea. That bird reminded me of the Touch of Nature set I SO wish I had purchased before it retired. Kel

I DO love the images and the holder is awesome!!! I like the smaller size compared to the one I sent you - it fits into a A2 envelope whereas mine was too big!!! But I guess it depends on the size of the images!!! I haven't had time to play with the images, but I'm hoping this week I will have some time!!!
