I went to a fun stamping event today and bought a whole bunch of new toys to go with my new Papertrey Ink stamps and Stampin' Up stuff. Now, I am really going to have to go on a spending freeze. It is time to use up all that I have gathered.
I met up with my friend Chris (Catt871) and her friend tiggeriffic and we had lots of fun enabling each other to buy stuff (but I do think I was the worst!! Sorry ladies).
One of the techniques that everyone seemed to be demonstrating is using Sookwang tape and Glitter Ritz. What fun! If you haven't tried this yet, you really have to give it a go.
Here is my first attempt at the technique. You use the tape to stick the glitter...and the backing from the tape is used like stencils...either positive or negative. You can punch or cut images out. The possibilities are endless.
Note that the card is very hard to photograph. The background glitter is all black with these different sized and colored circles (in the photo, it looks like there are lighter colors in the black, but there is not in real life).
The card is fairly straight forward. I made the glitter background, cut it to size and used my ticket punch on the corners. Adheared this to a piece of green cardstock and added some bling to the corners. The sentiment was stamped with black onto more of the green cardstock and adhered to the glitter background. I used Tombow Monoglue which worked well.
Supplies: Stamps-Simple Little Things (Papertrey Ink), Cardstock-Green Galore, Whisper White {this is what the glitter background is on} (Stampin' Up), Ink-Basic Black (Stampin' Up), Accessories-Tape (Sookwang), Glitter (Jewel Glitter Ritz), ticket corner punch (Stampin' Up), rhinstones (unknown from Michaels).
You can be sure to see more of these glittery cards in the future.
Thanks for visiting.
