Crafty Creations Challenge #178 - Free For All

This week's Crafty Creations Challenge #178 is a Free For All.  Gotta love it when there are no restrictions.  The only need this week was to use one of the adorable images provided by our sponser Kindy Garden.  I chose to work with this cute little dancer.  While my initial desire was to colour her pink, I restrained myself and decided to go with orange ... for something different.  I used my new Bic Mark Its from my current Secret Sister (so cool - thanks sis!)

...and check out the toulle I added to her tutu....

Okay, now it is your turn ... head over to Crafty Creations Challenge and upload your creation for your chance to win!!  Come on, it'a a free for all ... go for it!!!

Thanks for dropping by!

Welcome to another Crafty Creations Challenge.  This week's challenge #173 - is to make a wedding or anniversary card.  We were so lucky to have Digital Paper Craft provide us with a bunch of great images.  I saw this church and just knew I wanted to make a shaped card with it.

In the end, the overall shape remained rectangular, however, I made a gate-fold card with some "shaped" edges.  It is a good size and will be perfect for all of us to sign when our co-worker gets married!!

Now to see what the rest of Design Team 2 did with these great wedding images:

And you can check on the CCC blog to see if some others from Design Team 1 joined in on the fun.
While you are there, make sure you load up your wedding or anniversary card for your chance to win something from Digital Paper Craft.

Thanks for dropping by.

Birthday Butterfly

I am so grateful for online crafting friends!  You see, this card is created thanks to one!

I used my relatively new butterfly die from Papertrey Ink (why have I used it much less than I figured I would??) and creaeted this card from papers that I received from Angela - an online friend.  I won some goodies from her when I did a word scramble on a swap that we are both in.  Such beautiful papers and goodies.

Thanks for dropping by.

PaperCrafts Magazine CASE - Lindsey's Choice 2

Welcome back to our second week of CASEing cards from the March/April 2012 copy of Papercrafts Magazine.  Lindsey and I really enjoy doing this and there were LOTS of great cards to chose from in this issue.

Here is Lindsey's choice:

I opted to keep to the sense of the card ... strips of colours and a verticle element on the left side of the panel.  But as you can see, I did go out on a limb a bit.

Wouldn't this be a great card to give to a young boy or girl for their birthday or just to tell them how proud you are of them!  The gourmet sucker is added to the card using removable glue dots.

Okay, now ... I have been dying to see what Lindsey had in store for this card. Gotta run over to her blog Bashful Blogging and see what she did.

If you too want to play with us, CASE this card and leave a comment with a link so we can check it out.

And finally, drop back in tomorrow to see the card I picked and our CASE of it.

Crafty Creations Challenge #166 - Yellow + another colour

Today is another Group 1 week at Crafty Creations Challenges #166 ... but you all know I love to play along with my friends!!  Today's challenge is to use Yellow plus one other colour.  I decided to go with grey, London Fog (Memento) to be precise.  A few weeks ago I went searching for a good grey and this was what I ended up purchasing at my local scrapbook store.

Not sure if you can tell but I covered lots of the flowers with dazzling diamonds glitter (Stampin' up!).

The glitter is amazing in real life ... so, like usual, I kept the overall card very clean and simple so not to compete with all that glittery goodness!

Okay, make sure you head over to Crafty Creations Challenges blog to see the rest of the design team cards and to upload your creation for a chance to win this great prize package

See that 6x6 Picadilly BasicGrey pack ... totally worth it .... my all time favourite BasicGrey paper!!

Thanks for dropping in.

Crafty Creations Challenge #165 - Flower Power

Hello and welcome to Crafty Creations Challenge #165 - Flower Power!  I love using flower images.  I decided to use Flower Garden (Papertrey Ink) and add a bit of sparkle ... okay maybe A LOT of sparkle!

I stamped the flower image on some clear cardstock and let it dry.  Then I coated the back with Orange Stickles (Ranger) and cut out the flower once it waws all dry.  It was so pretty that I didn't want it to compete with lots of other card elements so I went clean and simple... like usual :-)

Time to see what the other gals from Team 2 created using flowers....

Okay, now it is time for you to create a project using Flowers to win from Whiff of Joy.  Link it up over at the Crafty Creations Challenges ... and good luck!

PaperCrafts Magazine CASE - Lindsey's choice 2

Hello again!  Glad to see you back.  Today's card is choosen by Lindsey.  Check out that beauty.  I too almost picked it so was totally pumped to see that Lindsey had.  That ribbon behind the element is awesome!!  (see pg 26 by Vivian Masket)

So I kept to the overall layout, changing the colours and card theme.

This great flower is from a sticker sheet (BasicGrey).  The ribbon is Stampin' Up! and the sentiment is Papertrey Ink.

Okay, now off to see what Lindsey created with this awesome card.  I know she had a particular ribbon she was going to use on this card.

Hope you enjoyed this CASEing fun.

Clean and Simple Stitched Valentine

A few months ago I made a big Papertrey Ink order and in it was a set called Daily Designs.  This is such a great versatile set ... perfect for a beginner as it has lots of small images that could be used for all the holidays and occasions - spring, father's day, easter, baby, halloween, birthday, winter, and valentines day, plus some general images like leaves and birds.

For this card, I used this great stitched heart image in various PTI shades of pinks and red.

A little bit of pure poppy Itty Bitty Dots designer paper (Papertrey Ink) and voila!  A great Valentine!

Glad you could drop by my little corner of the www

PaperCrafts Magazine CASE My Choice 1

Welcome back to Lindsey and my fun at CASEing great cards from the March/April issue of PaperCrafts Magazine.  Today is my choice and I picked this interesting card.  (page 29 by Courtney Kelley).  I love the shape of that die cut!!!

I kept the great layout, the die shape and that bright red flower.

A close up of the cluster of elements.  Love it all!  The sentiment if from Hero Arts.

Okay, now it is time to check out and see what Lindsey did with this card.  She also almost picked this card so I am sure she will create a beauty!!

And you will need to drop back in next Thursday and Friday when Lindsey and I go at it again!  We have 2 more great cards from the March/April  PaperCrafts Magazine to CASE!

These apple stickers are from the Picadilly paper pack (BasicGrey), which I ADORE!!!  Very little stamping, just the lovely sentiment (from Autumn Abundance, Papertrey Ink).

Now you need to head over to Lindsey's blog to see what she did with this inspiration card.

Crafty Creations Challenge #163 - Game On!

Hello and welcome to Crafty Creations Challenge #163 - Game On!  That's right, the challenge is to create a card that deals with games (ball, board, or anything else).

Now let me tell you, I was really stumped on this one at first .. but then I started looking around and realized I did have a few sets that would help.  In the end, I created 3 different Clean And Simple cards using Toy Box (Stampin' Up - retired) and Boy Basics: Game On (Papertrey Ink).

Here is card #1 - a little 3x3 to give my wonderful son some inspiration at some point:

Card #2 ... a play off the ball in Toy Story ....

and Card #3, which I will probably save for my son's birthday which is quickly approaching!  Check that awesome graph paper ... downloaded it free HERE.

Like I said, I stuck to Clean and Simple, and all are very masculine cards - perfect for boys!

Okay, now off to check out and see what everyone else created.

Group 2:

and check out the
for cards that members of Group 1 might have added.

Now it is your turn.  Look around your crafting space ... think outside the box!!  Maybe you have some old dominos laying around or scabble pieces ... just think ... Bingo is a game, right .... (now I am just giving myself more ideas ... LOL!)

The Alley Way Stamps meets Cosmo Cricket

Playing around with more Alley Way Stamps.  This time I paired this cute butterfly with papers from the Boyfriend paper collection (Cosmo Cricket).  Love the striped paper in this kit!

Check the butterfly body .. coloured in with my Sukura glitter pen (which I rarely think to use .. why!  it is so glittery!!)

Love the clean graphic look of this card.

Spring - Stripes and Tulips

I love this package of designer paper that is all stripes and dots.

Here I've taken the bright pink stripes and created long panels.  I've also played on Dawn McVey's strategy shown on a Make it Monday video to take 1 small frame and use it to create a larger frame ... except I've done the same with 2 diecuts .. joining them to make 1 longer die cut.  The join is covered by the ribbon!

Tulip image is an inchie from Inkadinkado along with the peace sentiment.
Peace Out!

CAS-ual Friday #44 - Changito Wedding

Hey everyone!  I am back from my work trip and I had to get back in my craft room and create!!  I received this sweet image from Angela as part of a challenge swap I am in.  Sweet!!  I decided to use it for the Retro Sketches #2 challenge as well (but of course you know I'm too late to add it to the challenge .. sheesh!!)

And the final project also works for this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge #44 - to use a pattern, an image, and a sentiment ... and still keep it clean and simple.

I picked up this georgous paper from my local scrapbook store last week (Ring Around the Rosie by October Afternoon) and wanted to cut right into it (or I would just hoard it!! LOL).

I kept the whole thing clean and simple to allow the focus to be on the cute monkeys and that beautiful background paper.  The tearing and the texture on the strip of yellow paper adds just enough oomph.

And notice the boy monkey's tie ... he just looked too plain so I decided to give him one.  A bit of diamond stickles on his tie and her hair piece makes all the difference!!

Thanks for dropping by for a visit!

Crafty Creations Challenge #161 - The Cow Jumped Over the Moon

This week at Crafty Creations Challenge #161 the challenge is to create project/card with your favourite childhood fairy tale character.  When I was little I had a clock that showed the cow jumping over the moon that I loved.  So, when I saw this image from Meljen's Designs Digital Stamps, I knew what I'd be doing!!

And here is a close up showing the dimension!

The little star on the sentiment banner is made from no bake clay cut with a small shape cutter.

Now you need to go check out what the rest of Design Team Group 2 did:

and check out the Crafty Creations Challenge blog where items will be posted by anyone from Design Team Group 1 who couldn't resist these lovely Mother Goose images as well.

Now it's your turn ... create an item that is inspire by your favourite childhood fairy tale character and link it up at Crafty Creations Challenges!!  See you there!!

Big Birthday Wishes

This week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge #43 is to make the sentiment the focal point ....

I think this qualifies ....

You all know how much I love to use up my scraps.  And lately, these banners for sentiments is a passion of mine ... the larger the better!!  And this is the first time I've inked up this BIG sentiment from Papertrey Ink  (Think Big Favorites #7).  I like the dot on the 'i' ... it started out as a Metallic Decor (Hero Arts) and silver ... but I painted it with my gold marker.

With a sentiment this big ... who needs other stuff on the card, it can stand alone!!  LOL!!

Thanks for dropping by,

Thank You ... Imke!

This card was created for 2 reasons ....
1) to use up these great letters that Imke sent me ... she is such a thoughtful friend (thanks Imke!!)
and 2) to use that increadible BasicGrey wooden button ... see it on the left?!  Amazing!!

I found this great paper at my local Dollar Store.  It is really neat.  Very soft, almost like cloth.
I can hardly believe I actually used one of those buttons  and didn't hoard the whole package ... just 5 more left .... what will I do with them??

Thanks for dropping by.
