Welcome to another Crafty Creations Challenge.  This week's challenge #173 - is to make a wedding or anniversary card.  We were so lucky to have Digital Paper Craft provide us with a bunch of great images.  I saw this church and just knew I wanted to make a shaped card with it.

In the end, the overall shape remained rectangular, however, I made a gate-fold card with some "shaped" edges.  It is a good size and will be perfect for all of us to sign when our co-worker gets married!!

Now to see what the rest of Design Team 2 did with these great wedding images:

And you can check on the CCC blog to see if some others from Design Team 1 joined in on the fun.
While you are there, make sure you load up your wedding or anniversary card for your chance to win something from Digital Paper Craft.

Thanks for dropping by.

CAS-ual Friday #44 - Changito Wedding

Hey everyone!  I am back from my work trip and I had to get back in my craft room and create!!  I received this sweet image from Angela as part of a challenge swap I am in.  Sweet!!  I decided to use it for the Retro Sketches #2 challenge as well (but of course you know I'm too late to add it to the challenge .. sheesh!!)

And the final project also works for this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge #44 - to use a pattern, an image, and a sentiment ... and still keep it clean and simple.

I picked up this georgous paper from my local scrapbook store last week (Ring Around the Rosie by October Afternoon) and wanted to cut right into it (or I would just hoard it!! LOL).

I kept the whole thing clean and simple to allow the focus to be on the cute monkeys and that beautiful background paper.  The tearing and the texture on the strip of yellow paper adds just enough oomph.

And notice the boy monkey's tie ... he just looked too plain so I decided to give him one.  A bit of diamond stickles on his tie and her hair piece makes all the difference!!

Thanks for dropping by for a visit!

Tuesday Morning Sketch #130 and Lily Pad Card Challenge - Best Wishes Bride and Groom

My blogging buddy, Jessica, created the sketch for this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch so I wanted to play along.  As well, Lily Pad has a card challenge going on right now ... to use your favourite patterned paper and make a card with it .. no more hoarding!
Well, I have had this paper from Stampin' Up! for years ... one of my favourite in the pack that I loved and therefore wouldn't cut into it .. until today!!

This lovely doily die was sent to me from one of my former Secret Sisters - Linda (thanks yet again!).  The colours ended up being pretty washed out ... bu the leaves are stamped with Mellow Moss and the Best Wishes sentiment (Papertrey Ink - Giga Guide Lines) is embossed in gold to match the ribbon feature which has the rest of the sentiment (from Wedding Day, Papertrey Ink) embossed in white.

What a great day of card making!  Hope you've enjoyed your Sunday as well.
See you tomorrow with another challenge card.

Crafty Creations Challenge #144 - Recycle

This week's challenge at Crafty Creations Challenge #144 is to recycle.  Well, if you have ever been around my blog you will know that I do that all the time!!  Today I recycled a music sheet that I got from an old old old organ music book.  Another recycled item is a small amount of black velvet trim that came off of an old pair of slippers.

I don't make many wedding cards (not many folks in my world getting married these days) but thought the wedding bells would look great with the music background.

Off to post and see what everyone else recycled...

Thanks for dropping by,

Forever and Always

Here is a card that could be a wedding card or an anniversary card.
It is a combination of a rich purple and a soft grey.
The bottom panel is a piece of purple cardstock with lines made by
 using my Versamark pencil.

Hope you have a great day!

Purple Weddings

Purple seems to be a very popular choice these days for weddings!!  I used one of the delicious Martha Stewart doilies on this card.  Sentiment is from Wedding Day (Papertrey Ink) and the white flowers were colored with Copic markers to match.

I am glad you dropped in to my little corner of the www.  Have a great day!

Moxie Fab Sketch 2

(note - this is my second post for today ... to see another Moxie Fab World sketch scroll down!)

And here is another sketch from Moxie Fab World ....

And my card ....

This one requires a few additional photos so you can see the gold leaf (on the leaves) and the gold embossing that has been impressed with stamp images ... so much fun to create!!

Look at all that golden shine!  This was fun .. the leaves are a 2-sided sticker sheet that I placed some gold leaf over to adhere.  It looks amazing!!  This is the first time I've had any luck using the gold leaf!   Then I coated a piece of scrap paper with gold embossing powder in many layers and, while still hot, pressed a few images into the liquid.  Then I cut them into the banner shapes and adhered.
Thanks for dropping by today!

Masculine Wedding Card

So do you think it is possible to make a masculine wedding card?  Would you ever need one? What about those times when you know the groom and not the bride .. and the groom is ... well, an ol' country boy!  I think this card would be perfect!!

I recieved this great image from my Secret Sister, Linda as well as those awesome metal corner brads.  The "brad" part didn't really work for me so I just cut off the tines and used glue dots to make them stay where I wanted them to.  The card base is stamped with Designer Woodgrain (Hero Arts), one of my all time go to stamps these days!!

Thanks for dropping by, I certainly appreciate you!!

Wedding Joy

We just returned from Toronto where we attended my nephew's wedding.  It was so beautiful and he and his new wife clearly love each other very much!  I wish them all the love and joy that marriage brings.  As well, we got to visit with family, nice since we live on opposite sides of the country and don't get to see each other very often.

I was honored to be asked to make the wedding invitations, which I did and gave them as a wedding gift. I also created thank you cards that went with the theme of the wedding.

For a small gift to give at the wedding, I made these wine bottle lables that also come with a poem about each special event.  I got the idea from someone else on the www here but I can't find the name of the blog and I'm so tired -- so speak up if it is you so I can give credit where credit is due!!!   Edited - I found the site -- It is from Starlit Studio - Cindy Lyles (she's brilliant!!).  HERE is the direct link to her blog and you will see that I really did get my inspiration from her.
I hope you enjoy checking out these wedding items.  Remember, if you want to see any of them a bit larger you just need to click on the picture (and if that doesn't work try right clicking on the image and then selecting 'open' from the menu).

Thanks for dropping in.

Loonie Stamper's Challenge #50 - Wedding Card

When I popped onto the Loonie girls' blogs and saw that the challenge for this week is a wedding card I thought "oh no" because I don't have too many wedding stamps but when I saw that the colors were black, white, and silver.....yikes!! Anyway, here is my attempt. I'm not really all that happy with it but figured I'd better post "something". What do I like about this????....well, not much but I do like the effect of the sentiment stamped with black onto the vellum that has silver design on it and then adhered to the white heart. It is probably hard to see the effect in this photo but the sentiment looks like it is floating on the heart, looks cool in real life!! Anyway, now I'm off to see what the other loonie girls did with this crazy challenge: Jewels, Marie, Char, Regan, Dee, Wendy Supplies" Stamps- Wedding Day, Polka Dot Basics (Papertrey Ink); Ink - Basic Black (Stampin' Up!), Silver (Colorbox Chalks); Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black (SU!), vellum with silver design (unknown - from the Dollar Store); Other - scallop punch (Marvy - actually borrowed from a friend a while ago - thanks Robin!), satin white ribbon (Papertrey Ink), silver marker (Sharpie), heart punch (Marvy).

Wedding Cards in Chocolate and Vanilla - Yummy!!

My friend Jenny is going to a wedding next week and has asked for a wedding card in the colors of the wedding. -- Chocolate and Vanilla -- how yummy does that sound!! Just like a bowl of great pudding!! Anyway, I wanted to make a few different samples for her to choose from so she could pick one she liked the best. Here are the 3 cards I ended up creating. Which one do you think she will pick??? Supplies: all cards are made with Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla cardstock (Stampin' Up), all ink is Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up); all sentiments are from Wedding Day (Papertrey Ink), top card also uses Guide Lines and Borders and Corners (Papertrey Ink), Very Vanilla ribbon (Stampin' Up!), Brown silk ribbon (Michael's), half pearls (Dollarama), scallop scissors (Provo Craft), designer paper- Au Chocolate (Stampin' Up!), roses (from my stash purchased at Michaels' but I can't remember company name), circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug. Thanks for dropping in! Donelda

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - December

That's right!! It is Blog Hop with Papertrey Ink time again!! While the blog hop usually occurs on the 25th of each month, Nichole changed the date to the 26th for obvious reasons! She's one smart gal!! This month, the challenge was to "repurpose leftover holiday trimmings such as christmas cards or gift wrap and create something all new!" I love doing this!! Last year, I used the cardboard from our Christmas dinner crackers to make THESE New Year's cards. And, while we had the same Christmas crackers, I wanted to do something a little different this time (but I did still save some of the cracker packaging ... it is awsome to work with). When I saw the awesome gold packaging from a big red bow, I knew I'd have to do something with that!! In fact, I instantly thought of THIS post from Sharon Johnson and wanted to do a similar project. (ETA - Unfortunately I see that the gold paper didn't actually show up in this picture. You see where the dark color is...just imagine that it is gold...it really is!! If you click on the second little pic it is a little more noticable in there...sorry...photographing metalics is obviously not my forte!! ) I added some gold embossing and white cardstock and ribbon, and voila, an instant wedding card! Supplies: Stamps - Wedding Day, Borders & Corners {Square} (Papertrey Ink); Ink - Versamark; Paper - Select White (Papertrey Ink), Gold (from a red bow package), Other - White organdy ribbon (Stampin' Up!), gold embossing powder (Stampin' Up!). Off to check off all the other Blgo Hop entries!! Thanks for dropping in!! Check in tomorrow and I'll be showing you the tin I decorated to put my hubby's golf membership in! Donelda
