Baby Cards

Here are a few cute little baby cards. I had actually made them for a BasicGrey challenge but never got around to posting them in time (same old story!!). But I had to post them anyway because they are So cute!!
I started out with those little stickers of the cow and lamb. I got them at the Dollar Store in town. In the package, they come on a gross piece of shiny blue paper but I gently pulled that off. The pink (Smart from Sultry collection) and the blue sky papers are both BasicGrey. The green is a piece from my huge scrap pile and I cut little bits of grass along the top edge.
Supplies: Stamps - Everyday Classics, Mixed Messages, Borders & Corners {square} (Papertrey Ink); Ink - Jet Black (Ranger); Other - animal stickers (Dollar Store).
Thanks for dropping in to my blog! I am so happy that today is Friday. I am hoping to get lots of crafting done this weekend.

Clean and Simple Challenges 23 and 24

While I was away, I missed a lot of great challenges. One that I really like is the Clean and Simple Challenges (or CAS) over on Splitcoaststampers. I completed CAS24 which was this Monday's challenge (I did 3 cards...I just couldn't stop!!) but then when back and did CAS23 as well!!
CAS24 - use the colors Yellow, Orange, and Turquoise.
Here is Card #1 and, actually, my favorite of the
bunch!! When making Clean and Simple cards, this is one of my all time favorite layouts!!
Supplies: Stamps-swirls inchie stamps by Inkadinkado; Cardstock - whisper white (SU); Ink - Only Orange, Yoyo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black (SU) Other - 1" square punch, dimensionals.
Here is the second card I made using these colors. My friend has lots of friends getting married and having babies so I have been trying to make a few baby cards, not something I do very often. I really like the look of the white stitching around the white block and then popped up onto a white card (white on white inpired by the CAS queen herself, Susan). Supplies: Stamps - All Year Through (SU!), Limitless Labels (Papertrey Ink); Paper - Whisper White (SU!); Ink - Yoyo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise (SU!); Other - sweing machine, white thread, dimensionals, orange button (Basic Grey), white floss (DCM).
This is my third card using these colors. No, that
yellow strip was not supposed to be there but
when I stamped the sentiment the first time it was crooked....of course!! Drat! So, I restamped it onto a strip of the yellow cardstock and added it to the card. Not as nice but will work. I do love the swarvoski crystals that I added to the centers of these awesome flowers!!
Supplies: Stamps- Garden of Life (Papertrey Ink); Paper - Whisper White, Yoyo Yellow (Stampin' Up!); Ink - Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black (Stampin' Up!); Other - crystals (Swarvoski), dimensionals. And here is the card I made for CAS23 where we were giving this awesome site to use as a place to find inspriation! Wow, you could be looking all day!! I used THIS PIECE as my inspiration piece. I've never thought of doing this with this cow from Very Punny before! I laughed out loud when I thought of it!! Certainly not my typical style but it was fun!! Supplies: Stamps - Out on a Limb, Everyday Classics (Papertrey Ink), Very Punny (Stampin' Up!); Paper - Night of Navy, Whisper White (SU!); Ink- Yoyo Yellow, Night of Navy, Basic Black (SU!); Other - gingham ribbon, white gel pen (Signo), dimensionals, copic markers (pink, black). So, next I am going to attack some of the Loonie girl challenges and maybe try to get a card ready for the next Papertrey Ink blog hop (I've missed the last few of those too!!).
Have a great day everyone!!

Loonie Stamper's Challenge #44 - Sympathy Trio and Baby Boat

This week's Loonie Stamper Challenge uses some great soft colors together. I started out with a bit of a cheat (as I used each color seperately) because I needed some Sympathy cards and I figured that these colors would be perfectly for what I wanted to do. But I felt badly for cheating so badly...so I pulled all the colors together to create a baby card, also perfect colors for that!!
So, here are my Sympathy cards. I really like the simple layout. I also like the swirls on the colored cardstock, a nice subtle touch. If you have not used Papertrey Ink's satin ribbon....you just have to know how wonderful this ribbon is to tie!! A delight!! See that sentiment. Of all the sympathy sentiments I have (quite a few I discovered), this one is the one I keep coming back to again and again!! It is from the Birds of a Feather stamp set sold by Papertrey Ink. And look at that....some tearing on my card, a technique I think can add a lot of texture and interest to a card but I rarely think to incorporate
it!!
And here is the second card I created using all of the colors together.
I really like the twill and button embellishment that I added to go with the baby boat theme! I can't help but feel like this card is not finished...I think it needs something under the aqua water...maybe a strip of yellow?? A strip of black?? a piece of Lavender Moon ribbon?? What do you think?? I think I will play around with it a bit and see what I like best.
Now, off to see what the Loonie ladies have created with this color combo:
Supplies:
Sympathy Trio: Stamps-Lift up our Hands (Our Daily Bread), Flourishes v.2 (Autumn Leaves), Birds of a Feather (Papertrey Ink); Ink - Brilliance Graphic Black, Versamark (Tsukinmo), Lavender Moon, Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart (Papertrey Ink) Close to Cocoa (Stampin' Up!); Paper - Whisper White (Stampin' Up!), Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, Lavender Moon, Lavender Moon Bitty Dots (all Papertrey Ink); Other - Aqua Mist, Lavender Moon, and Lemon Tart satin ribbon (Papertrey Ink), Aqua Mist twill (Papertrey Ink), white button (Hero Arts), purple floss (DCM), paint brush (I brushed the color onto the boat), small scallop scissors (Provo Craft), sponge, dimensionals.
Thanks for dropping in!!

Baby Card Set

I don't make baby cards very often but I found these cute little 3D stickers at Dollarama and knew I wanted to make some cute little cards with them! Didn't they turn out adorable!!
See the square blocking behind each of the stickers....I got that inspiration from the amazingly talented Nichole Heady and THIS card she made recently. Those squares are actually ticking me off. You see, when I was just starting out stamping I bought this big container (like 1000s of them) of square pieces of cardstock in multiple colors! Man, what a bad decision that was. Their colors don't match any of the ink I have and they don't even accept ink very well anyway. I see that big plastic container sitting there and I feel guilty about it so I try to use them every once in a while! Did a good job tonight!!
A few other details, see the circle behind each animal...I used my home-made cloud template to create the clouds (I love doing that!). As well, I stamped small images on each colored square with Versamark. Hard to see in the photos (click to enlarge each image) but it adds nice detail in real life. Finally, I made these cards to fit inside the medium sized glassine bags that Papertrey Ink sells.
Supplies: Stamps-Borders & Corners {square} and {circle}, Limitless Lables (Papertrey Ink); Ink - Basic Black, Soft Sky (Stampin' Up!), Versamark; Paper-Whisper White (Stampin' Up!), Squares of cardstock (Colorbox); Other - home-made cloud template, coluzzle, animal 3D stickers (Dollarama -- yup, all of these for just one dollar!!).
Thanks for dropping in for a visit!! Keep coming back!
