Your Room (scrapbooking)

Hello.

If you are unaware ... Winter CHA is happening this weekend.  What that means is new supplies coming to an LSS near you.  But not for me (or at least I am going to try to withstand the temptation).
What it also means is 2Peas is running online challenges where you can win if you upload layouts or cards based on the challenge.  I get if I win ... so I'll be entering!!

For today, I wanted to scrap by sons room as it is now that he is 13.  A long time ago, I scrapped his room when he was just little.  While some things are the same, there is a lot that is different as well.  I think it will be cool for him when he is older to look back and see what was in his room.

The 2peas Challenge I am entering this layout into is the Select 7 Diffrent Patterns challenge.  That is right ... use 7 different patterns on your layout. I can hardly believe it but I did.  All come from the Lime Rickey Collection (BasicGrey).  That made it a bit easier.

Here is a close up of the title.  Large letters are also from the Lime Rickey collection (BasicGrey) but the little letters are black on clear squares from Recollections (sold at Michaels).

I also used a rub-on (the All Mine circle at the top left corner of the verticle photo) and it is from Sampin' Up!

I must say, I am enjoying the creative outlet of scrapbooking again!  I am trying to be brave and just cut into all my beautiful paper .. to use it up.  I have an agreement with myself .. if I use it all, I can buy new stuff again.  No better way to motivate myself!!

Hope over to 2peas and see what is going down at Winter CHA.  If you want to see video's showing some of the new products you can check it out HERE.

Thanks for dropping by.

Crafty Creations Challenge #170 - Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Hello and welcome to Crafty Creations Challenge #170 - Planes, trains and automobiles!  That's right, make a  male birthday card.  The lovely Claire is sponsoring ... and was kind enough to share some awesome digital images for the design team to create with.  Here is my card:

I printed the image and coloured it in with copics.  The sentiment is from Pond Life Additions (Papertrey Ink).  The stars on the side are from a rub-on set from Stampin' Up!

I kept it all very clean and simple, perfect for a masculine card!

Now head on over to the Crafty Creations Challenges blog to see what the rest of the design team created and link up your entry to win something from Claire

Thanks for visiting.

Take 3 Challenge - A Dog and His Boy - Take 2

Here is my second card using this cute little dog and boy image from October Afternoon's Kite Tales stamp set.  It all started with those clouds .. they are rub ons (from Studio Calico) that I got at 75% off at my local scrapbook store.  Love them!!

I adore this cute little scene.  Today, the boy is coloured with Copics while yesterday's
card was paper pierced.
Okay, one more card ... my Take 3 using this little stamp set will be here tomorrow.  It is a very
different take from these last 2 cards.....

See you tomorrow!

Hello Squares

I LOVE this layout!  It is not my own original design, I borrowed it from 'the' Teri Anderson.  I saw it on her blog HERE and wanted to try it for myself.  (sorry for the poor photography - the embossing made it difficult to photograph and I still have not gotten better lighting for my photo box).

A few weeks ago, I picked up a stamp set by Stampology (sold at Walmart) called Paisley Backgrounds.  They are not the best quality but they work and are quite inexpensive.  And besides, I love paisley -- I know it is not "in" right now, but I don't care, I love it anyway!!
I stamped the lined image background onto some white cardstock and embossed it with black embossing powder.  Then I colored it in with blue (B14, Copic), pink (Cameo Coral, SU!), and yellow (Staedtler fineliner).  Love the results!!  To see it close up either click on the image or right click on the image and select "open" in the menu you get.

The sentiment is a rub on (Stampin' Up!) and the lines are faux stitching were done with my white gel pen (Signo).  Everything here is scrap or old products I've owned and need to start using (the rub-ons!!).  Yeah for me!!

Enjoy your day!!

One Layer Cards - Rub Ons

So yesterday I showed you a one layer card made by masking. Today, another one layer card but this time, I used rub-ons to help me out. This was a super simple card, thanks to the beautiful rub on by K&Co. I simply took a vanilla card base, adhered the rub on to the bottom and then stamped on the birthday sentiment. A bit of sponging around the edges for a little dimension. Supplies: Stamps - Birthday Basics (Papertrey Ink); Ink - Walnut Stain (Ranger); Paper - Very Vanilla (Stampin' Up!); Other - rub on (K&Co.), sponge applicator (Ranger). Any of you inspired to try a one layer card yet?... if so link it up in your comment so I can have a peak!!! Have a great day!! Donelda

Monochromatic Rub-On

The Caardvarks challenge is to make a card using rub-ons! I've had some beautiful rub-ons from Fancy Pants and was happy to use them! Just look at that beautiful frame and flowers!!! The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Green Thumb set stamped with Caramel ink. The cardstock is a piece from K&Company and it coordinted perfectly with the Caramel carstock card base. I finished off the card with some Close to Cocoa ink sponed around the edges and a bit of organdy brown ribbon. Sorry, not sure the company as it was a gift from a friend!!
I do like how this card turned out. I have been visiting Sharon's blog No Time to Stamp a lot lately and she has been commenting on how nice cards are easy if you use beautiful things. That is so true with this card - it was so easy but I think it has a simplistic beauty to it!!
If you have made a card using rub-ons post a link, I'd love to see it!!
