Take 3 Challenge - A Dog and His Boy - Take 2

Here is my second card using this cute little dog and boy image from October Afternoon's Kite Tales stamp set.  It all started with those clouds .. they are rub ons (from Studio Calico) that I got at 75% off at my local scrapbook store.  Love them!!

I adore this cute little scene.  Today, the boy is coloured with Copics while yesterday's
card was paper pierced.

Okay, one more card ... my Take 3 using this little stamp set will be here tomorrow.  It is a very
different take from these last 2 cards.....

Take 3 Challenge - A Dog and His Boy - Take 1

Yup, this week I'm going cute and masculine!!  Here is my Take 1 card using these images from October Afternoon called Kite Tales.

No buttons, no ribbon, no pretty things = masculine card.  A very CAS card as well.

Stay tuned because my Take 2 card will be here tomorrow. Still masculine but done in a different way.

You Rock!

I Love this stamp set from Stampendous.  It is called Rock Out and perfect for a mom of a guitar player. In fact, this is exactly what my sons guitar looks like.  I stamped the image onto the white cardstock and then colored the black portion using my black Copic marker.  I added some silver with my silver Sukura pen and then covered the main part of the guitar with glossy accents.  It looks so cool in real life (sadly doesn't really show the shine in this photo). 

I stamped the rest of the white panel with some stamps from t!m holtz's Bitty Grunge (Stampers Anonymous) set and the stars are from the addition set to Out on a Limb (Papertrey Ink).  I added a bit of silver dry embossed metal (actually it is a piece of coke can, cut, cleaned, and then run through my Cuttlebug with the Distressed Stripes folder).   As well, I added the star that I hand cut from a pair of old jeans and then sewed around the edges with my sewing machine.  The whole lot got adhered to a Kraft card base.

I think it rocks!!  Can't wait to give this to my wonderful son ... a card to let him know how much I think of him!!

Old Guy Cards

So these are some of the most fun cards I've made!! My husband loves this clothing company called Old Guys Rule. They make hats, t-shirts, and stickers along with some other novelty items. So, you can imagine my excitement when I saw that they had come out with a scrapbooking line of papers and stickers.

I took the stickers and adhered them to some light cardboard. This way, they were like chipboard pieces. Then I started making some cards.

I think this long card is my favorite! It is home to the company's main logo. It says "Old Guys Rule Aged to Perfection". I added various circles on the blue paper (just like the card above) and also added some masculine feeling stripes to the gray paper.

The last card used the designer paper and one of the sticker "chipboard" pieces I created. I did a little altering of the sticker to read properly for the birthday card. A bit of doodling, sponging, and some string and, voila, a great masculine birthday card!!

So, what do you think?? Is there a guy in your life that might appreciate recieving one of these cards?? I sent one to my older brother...he didn't think it was too funny!! Hahahaha!! I love it!!

Glitter Leaves for the American Thanksgiving

I made this a while ago but now I wish I'd have used a "thankful" sentiment since it would have made a great card for my American friends as they celebrate thanksgiving!! The strip along the bottom is actually a piece of Sookwang two-sided tape. I used my hobby knife to slice off a bit from the top and bottom and covered that with some cinnamon colored glitter. Then I peeled off the larger middle section ... but carefully put on some punched out leaf shapes so that when I added the dark brown glitter, it went around the leaves. Finally, I added the copper glitter to the leaves after pulling off the leaf masks. I really liked the results!! I added this band to a card base of Creamy Caramel that was stamped with Versamark ink. I finished it off with a sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink. So I hope all my American friends have a great Thanksgiving with lots of yummy food and great company!!
