Crafty Creations Challenge #178 - Free For All

This week's Crafty Creations Challenge #178 is a Free For All.  Gotta love it when there are no restrictions.  The only need this week was to use one of the adorable images provided by our sponser Kindy Garden.  I chose to work with this cute little dancer.  While my initial desire was to colour her pink, I restrained myself and decided to go with orange ... for something different.  I used my new Bic Mark Its from my current Secret Sister (so cool - thanks sis!)

...and check out the toulle I added to her tutu....

Okay, now it is your turn ... head over to Crafty Creations Challenge and upload your creation for your chance to win!!  Come on, it'a a free for all ... go for it!!!

Thanks for dropping by!

It is baby time and the challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges #175 is to create a project for a baby - welcome baby, baby shower, whatever!

I created this clean and simple card using die cuts from K&Co. I just added the stamped word 'BABY' using Fresh Alphabet (Papertrey Ink) and some glittery bling on the body of the butterfly.

You will need to check out the other baby creations by the design team ... head over to the Crafty Creations Challenges blog to see and also to upload your creation to win a prize from The Stamping Boutique!!

See you there!!

One Layer Wednesday (OLW) #81 - Cream, Black, and Bling

Jennifer set this week's One Layer Wednesday (OLW) challenge # 81 to use Cream, Black, and Bling.  Wow - this really stumped me!!  I just don't use cream that often so I kept having a big block ... until I polled out my new-to-me Mehndi Medallion stamp set (Papertrey Ink) ....

You will note that there is 1 black bling (half rhinstone) and 4 other regular rhinstones in the middles of the bigger medallions.

Love this set!!  So worth the $5!

Crafty Creations Challenge #153 - Valentine

This week's challenge at Crafty Creations Challenge is to create a Valentine Themed card or project.  We are being sponsored by Whiff of Joy this week so play along ... you might win a prize!!

Here is my card...

The papers come from one of my past Secret Sisters (thanks Linda).  I saw a lovely die in this shape, so in true Donelda fashion, I created my own out of cardstock.  The images and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink.

Now off to see what everyone else created from the Design Team playing along this week:

Thanks for visiting.  Enjoy making a Valentine themed project.  Don't forget to link it up at Crafty Creations Challenges for a chance to win!

One Layer Wednesday (OLW) 64 - Pumpkin Thanks

This week is Susan R's turn to host the One Layer Wednesday challenge (#64) and she wanted us to color it!  Well, I can color!  While I've been having a lot of fun with my pencil crayons these days, I decided to use my Copics to color in this simple card.

I tried and tried to get a good photo but the lighting was bad and the end result is just bad!  Sorry!  I was inspired by Pat who created a card with these pumpkins (see HERE) that come from Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic set.   It seems we have been inspiring each other a lot these days. :-)

Thanks for taking a peek!!  Off to see all the other OLW cards entered!

One Layer Wednesday (OLW) - Border Stamps

First of all, sorry for the strange photo.  As many of you know, I've been struggling with getting enough light in my photo box.  Then, a few days ago one of the bulbs blew...making me have an even bigger lighting issue.  I went all over my house trying to find somewhere to take a half decent picture...it wasn't easy.  In the end, my sons room was it (as you can tell by the Mario behind my hand (sheesh!).  I am hoping to buy new lights this weekend which will solve the problem!

Well, Susan R. has issued another great challenge!  This time she asked us to create a one layer card using our border stamps!  I have a few border stamps ... more than I realized once I started looking!!  I actually like useing them quite a bit.  However, I have a few from Stampin Up! that are on the wheels and I never use them!!  I think it is just too hard to roll them straight, even when I use a guide.  So, when I read this challenge I considered if I wanted to "unmount" my SU! border stamps and ... I did!!  Well, just one for now.  I'll see if I use it more often and if I do then the rest will follow!

The stamp is Garden Annuals (retired) and is one of those stamps I "had to have" to go with my All Through the Year (retired) set.  Neither of these have been used enough for the money I paid so I happily pulled out the border image to use today!

I stamped the image with Susan's favorite color Orchard Oppulance (SU! .. and I lie, Susan thinks it looks like fairy vomit!!) onto an OO card base.  Then I offset the stamp slightly and stamped again for a shadow effect.  Next, I used a sentiment from Spiral Bouquet (Papertrey Ink).  Interstingly, I am using those large sentiments a lot lately.  I didn't realize I liked large sentiments but I guess I do.  I might have to buy more!!
Finally, I added some purple bling ... just to make up to Susan for using such a 'horrid' color, LOL!!!

Off to see what everyone else has done with their border stamps.

CAS26 - Shimmery Butterfly Birthday

So I did have a chance to create another challenge card. This time it is for the Clean and Simple (CAS) challenge #27 where Jen wanted us to use 'bling' on our cards. I had a ton of help with this card. First of all, many of you might recognize it. I totally CASED it from Lucy as you can see HERE. I few changes...but not many!! I loved her card and was wanting to try one of those die shaped cards. One difference was that I used watercolor paints to get the purple background. The beautiful butterfly is from the smARTworks set BF-04 Sm. Trio. After coloring the butterfly with pencil crayons, I smeared it with Star Dust Stickles!! This was a la Jennifer McGuire as you can see in her video HERE. If you haven't checked out all her videos, you must!! I really like the end results (but make sure you let it dry before trying to put the card together - don't ask my why I know this!!). Supplies: Stamps-BF-04 Sm. Trio (smARTworks), Birthday Basics (Papertrey Ink); Ink - Basic Black (Stampin' Up!), Versamark; Paper - Kraft, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!), watercolor paper; Other - white embossing powder, Star Dust Stickles (Ranger), crochet yarn, Labels 1 dies (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug (ProvoCraft), watercolor paints, paint brush. Well, that is one more challenge to add to my completed list. I also spent the evening sorting out my scrap bin and found a ton of great backgrounds and images I've colored in over the last few months. You'll likely be seeing them in the next few weeks as I hope to use some up! Thanks for dropping in! Donelda
