Crafty Creations Challenge #163 - Game On!

Hello and welcome to Crafty Creations Challenge #163 - Game On!  That's right, the challenge is to create a card that deals with games (ball, board, or anything else).

Now let me tell you, I was really stumped on this one at first .. but then I started looking around and realized I did have a few sets that would help.  In the end, I created 3 different Clean And Simple cards using Toy Box (Stampin' Up - retired) and Boy Basics: Game On (Papertrey Ink).

Here is card #1 - a little 3x3 to give my wonderful son some inspiration at some point:

Card #2 ... a play off the ball in Toy Story ....

and Card #3, which I will probably save for my son's birthday which is quickly approaching!  Check that awesome graph paper ... downloaded it free HERE.

Like I said, I stuck to Clean and Simple, and all are very masculine cards - perfect for boys!

Okay, now off to check out and see what everyone else created.

Group 2:

and check out the
for cards that members of Group 1 might have added.

Now it is your turn.  Look around your crafting space ... think outside the box!!  Maybe you have some old dominos laying around or scabble pieces ... just think ... Bingo is a game, right .... (now I am just giving myself more ideas ... LOL!)

Modern Basics - Finally!

Yup, that's right!  I finally broke out my new-to-me (back in December) Modern Basics stamp set (Papertrey Ink) and created with it!  These cards were a long time coming!!

I'm additcted to those flag sentiment strips.

This one is just a 3x3 ... and oh so cute with various shades of yellow and orange ink.

Thanks for dropping by.

Take 3 Challenge - Hero Arts Stem Blossom - Take 3

Hello and welcome to the last day of my Take 3 Challenge.  This is my Take 3 card ... or should I say cards!  The flowery end of the Long Stem Blossom is decorative enough to hold it`s own as a background stamp!  All it needed was a little sentiment!

Really amazing how different all 3 ``takes`` using this one image ended up being.  So much fun!!

Thanks for dropping by!

One Layer Wednesday (OLW) - Music

The One Layer Wednesday #43 challenge this week was given by Jennifer and it is all about Music.  Well I looked and there were only 2 stamp options I had.  Both were just small images so I decided I had to be creative.  Sadly, my final result is simply pathetic!! Yuck!!  So I cut it up and added some layers and that helped .. a tiny bit!!  Sheesh!  I might just take a second stab at it later this week.  I took a close up as I added some holographic embossing powder to the frame to try to spice it up a bit ...

Here is the close up and the "adjusted" card:

Thanks for dropping in.  I've got lots of inspiration for you in the coming week so make sure you drop back in for a visit.

PTI Anniversary Tag - Melissa Bickford and Group shot

Papertrey Ink is having their Anniversary Bash and to celebrate their designers have created free tags that can be downloaded. And, in true PTI form, Nichole is giving away a great prize to one random entry!! Go to her blog to see all the details!!

I decided to use the images to make 3x3" cards. This is the first of 7 (I didn't use 2 of the tag images as I ran out of time).

This tag was created by Melissa Bickford.  Her images are always so FUN!  I colored her image in with Copics and then added some blue glitter onto the clouds.  I made a fun background by using the same Copics used in the rainbow and drawing diagonal lines.  The black is the perfect to make it POP!!

This is the first of 7 posts I made; each one using a different free lable by one of the PTI designers.  I didn't use the one by Nichole Heady or Beth Silaika mostly because I don't have a circle punch the right size and also becuase I ran out of time!!

Make sure you check out all of my 3x3 cards.  Here is a group shot of them all!  What a fun morning!  Now I'd better go get some stuff done.  Thanks for dropping in today!

PTI Anniversary Tag - Tiffany Pastor

Papertrey Ink is having their Anniversary Bash and to celebrate their designers have created free tags that can be downloaded. And, in true PTI form, Nichole is giving away a great prize to one random entry!! Go to her blog to see all the details!!

I decided to use the images to make 3x3" cards. This is the first of 7 (I didn't use 2 of the tag images as I ran out of time).

This tag was created by Tiffany Pastor. I colored in the swirls with soem Raspberry Fizz ink (PTI) and my blender pen. The light blue around the swirls is a Copic marker.  There are 2 designer papers used here, the light blue circle is from Pretty Pastels (PTI) and the polkadot is from Raspberry Fizz Mix (PTI).  This ended up being another very simple card to create with just some dimensionals and a bit of glitter to make it sparkle.

This is the 3rd of 7 posts using these great free images from PTI.  Make sure you check them all out.  And drop over to Nichole's blog to see all the fun!

This tag was created by Lisa Johnson.  Soft and sweet!!  I colored the heart in with some Sweet Blush ink and a blender pen.  The light blue along the bottom is colored with a Copic and there is some glitter added along the lines.  The sentiment if from Mixed Messages (PTI) and is the perfect size in there!!  The background designer paper is from Pretty Pastals (PTI).

This is the 4th of 7 posts using these free lables from PTI.  Make sure you check them all out ... they were fun to create!!

I decided to use the images to make 3x3" cards. This is the first of 7 (I didn't use 2 of the tag images as I ran out of time).

This tag was created by Heather Nichols.  Her tag is AWESOME and makes creating a "snap" since it already has color.  The designer papers used are In Bloom and Itty Bitty Dots (both PTI).  A few dimensionals was all this little card needed!

This is the 5th of 7 cards made using these PTI free tags.  Make sure you scroll down and see them all!!

Masculine Glitter Card

I just found a blog called Critter Challenge!!  (edited to add ... guess what ... the challenge is actually closed ... story of my life!!  Ha!)

This week's challenge is to create a masucline card .. but you have to use glitter on it.  At first I thought that would be hard...but then it turned out being VERY easy!!  :-)

Simply adhered some Sookwang tape onto white cardstock, stamped the rocketship image onto the sookwang tape and cut each section off glittering as I went!!  Easy peasy!! This would make a great gift tag for a young boy (or maybe even an old one!).

Stamp set: Robots by Recollections; Glitter Ritz, Sookwang tape, white cardstock (Stampin' Up!).

Off to see what everyone else did with glitter.  Maybe I'll make a few other glittery cards while it's all out on my desk.  You'll probably see them in the near future.

Silver Embossed Flower Card Set

I saw a set like this on SCS a while ago - can't find it now so whoever you are please let me know so I can give you credit ... oh yeah, and thanks for the inspiration!!
Whoever it was, they had used silver embossing on colored cardstock to make a little set of cards.  I love it! These ones are 3x3 sized.  Unfortunately, the purple card was really hard to photograph for some reason.
The flowers all come from the stamp set Life (Papertrey Ink) and the sentimetns are various ones from Mixed Messages (Papertrey Ink).

Thanks for dropping in today! Have a great weekend!

Live for Today

Don't you love this sentiment!  It means a lot to myself and my team at work!!

Just wanted to create with it.  I made the sentiment verigated by stamping it first in Pumpkin Pie, then just the top and bottom using Really Rust, and finishing the very edge with Chocolate Chip (all Stampin' Up colors).

Stamps: Through the Trees (Papertrey Ink).

Enjoy your day!

I can use anything to make a card!

Remember my card yesterday and how I created a card out of a piece of kleenex box. I told you how I tend to keep everything, just in case. You never know when you will be able to make something out of it ..right!! Well, my husband and son make fun of me all the time. A few weeks ago, my husband was sucking on a Halls and jokingly asked if I wanted to keep the wrapper "in case you can make something out of it" with a big laugh! So I took it and vowed to make something with it!
In the end, I used 2 of the same wrappers, cut different sizes of flowers out using some Cuttlebug flower dies, and then crumpled them up to create this awesome flower!! You will also see that background strip. I created it by coloring in various "spaces" of ink onto white cardstock (Lemon Tart, Melon Berry, and Spring Moss - all Papertrey Ink) and then stamped over it with my Designer Woodgrain stamp (Hero Arts). The sentiment is a piece of the birthday stamp form Around and About (Papertrey Ink). See, I CAN make somehting out of ANYTHING!!!! Can you???? Donelda

smARTworks Cookie Challenge #14 - Swimmin'

Over on Susan's blog she has posted the 14th smARTworks Design Team Challenge. We were sent HSD Swimmin' to create cards! It was so much fun!!! I made a few cards because the options were too great to just stick with one!! The sad news....I can't seem to find a photo of my Swimmin' cards. I seem to do that on occasion... I'll look for them and post them if I find them....where can they be???????
Edited to add: Okay, I've looked everywhere and can't find the photos anywhere but I did find a photo of these little 3x3 cards I made using the set. The fish were stamped onto shrink plastic, colored, and shrunk! My son loved these!!! Anyway, you can check it out on Susan's blog.

CAS 49 - Cut it Out - Finest Flourishes

The Clean and Simple challenge #49 tonight was to Cut it Out! Well, I've had this flourish made from moulding paste sitting in my scrap bin for a very long time and decided I would "cut it out" and use it on a small 3x3 guft card.
The molding paste was colored with acrylic paint and then smeared into the Finest Flourishes stencil template sold by Stampin' Up! (although I suspect it is retired by now). The texture is awesome as you can see in this close up photo.
I adhered it with dimensionals and added the sentiment with Close to Cocoa ink (SU!). The sentiment is from the Rustic Branches set (Papertrey Ink).
A quick little Clean and Simple card. Off to see what the DT created and any other inspirational ideas on the CAS49 thread.

Appreciation Cards

When there is a special event it is common that the individuals who do all the work to make it a smashing success get forgotten in the excitement of it all. I didn't want the ladies who put on the School Division appreciation dinner to be forgotten (although they were named last night) and I wanted to make sure to personally thank them for their part in a great evening.
I copied and printed off the division logo (which was on the program) and using the colors of the program created these little 3x3 cards. I will leave them on their desks on Monday morning!!
