smARTworks Cookie Challenge #14 - Swimmin'
Over on Susan's blog she has posted the 14th smARTworks Design Team Challenge. We were sent HSD Swimmin' to create cards! It was so much fun!!! I made a few cards because the options were too great to just stick with one!! The sad news....I can't seem to find a photo of my Swimmin' cards. I seem to do that on occasion...
I'll look for them and post them if I find them....where can they be???????
Edited to add: Okay, I've looked everywhere and can't find the photos anywhere but I did find a photo of these little 3x3 cards I made using the set. The fish were stamped onto shrink plastic, colored, and shrunk! My son loved these!!!
Anyway, you can check it out on Susan's blog.

Cookie Challenge #13 - Fannie Mae
Note: Go HERE to see my blog candy for 50,000 blog hits, make sure you leave a comment so you have a chance to win.
When I opened the envelope from Susan that contained the latest Cookie Challenge my jaw hit the floor!! Fannie Mae is awesome but she would require creating a "vintage" card...and I really have a hard time creating "vintage".
So, I started searching out vintage galleries, blogs, and cards! I gathered a bunch of different ideas from various cards and pulled it all together to get my own creation.
Fannie Mae is colored with my Copics. The text background is a page from an old book, and I used my sewing machine, and even cut the edges jagged and sponged around the edges as well. In my exploration I saw a lot of lace so I wanted to include it on my card too....but my lace was so white and bright! So, I brewed a cup of stong tea and dunked the lace into it!! Just 20 minutes later and the lace fit much better!!
One last little detail, see that button...it was white!! So I took my pink Copic marker (the same one I used to color in the fan) and changed the button from white to pink!!
Now, I am off to see what the other Design Team members did. They are all together in the Cookie Jar. I am shocked to see how many different styles we all ended up with dispite using the same stamp set!!

smARTworks - When Pigs Fly
When I opened my Cookie Challenge stamp set, I
laughed out loud!! As you can see, this stamp is sooooo funny!! You could do a lot of great and original cards with this flying pig!! Initially, I couldn't imagine what to do, but once I got started, I began getting all kinds of ideas! This is the card I ended up with for the challenge. I stamped the flying pig randomly over a piece of white cardstock. Then I colored him in with Copic markers. I added Star Dust Stickles to the wings and set them aside to dry. Next, I added the sentiment to this flag and colored two white brads with the same Copic marker to get some pink brads. I also edged the flag with the pink marker. Once everything was dried, I pulled the card together!!

I think this funny stamp just might get lots of great use by me!!!
Off to see the post showing what all the Cookies did with this stamp set (this will be challenge #12 at the bottom of the list):
Thanks for dropping in for a visit!!

smARTworks Cookie Challenge
I've been trying to NOT buy any Copics. I have lots of ways to color my images and really quite like watercoloring with my ink pads! But, the other day, I had dropped in to a local art store...and there they were...calling out to me!! "buy me, buy me" they said. So, I did!! LOL.
I decided to use them to color in the image that Susan sent us for the smARTworks Cookie Challenge. Don't you just love these wonderful flowers!! I do. They totally remind me of Mayflowers...which is the Nova Scotia provincial flower. I remember once being out in the woods with my parents and coming across some.
We picked them (at the time I did not know we were not supposed to ... oops!). I don't ever remember seeing them ever again!! In my memory...they were a beautiful pink....just like these LOL~
The set is called Grow On. Susan made me laugh because she invisioned the flowers in this set to be blue...but every one of us did them in pink!! You can see all of the Cookie samples HERE!
And speaking of the smARTworks catty....have you seen the new releases that Susan just added??!! You have to go see them HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE!! I am so excited!!
Here are the marker colors I used. Let me tell you, using these babies takea practice!!! I used the Peacock Blue Prismapencil color pencil for the background.
I also used up a bunch of scrap that I have laying around!! Various pinks and greens!! I think they really 'pop' with the black.
Thanks for dropping in to visit!

Cookie Challenge
So, I am lucky enough to be asked to be a full fledged Design Team member with smARTworks!! Yeah!!! You can check out my gallery over at smARTworks HERE. If you check out the site, you will see that the Cookie Challenge is posted today, Dec. 15th. The Cookie Challenge is so much fun. Susan sends all the members of the Design Team the same stamp set and we all make cards with it and send them back to her. She then posts them all so we can see what everyone did with the same set!
I've got to tell you that I love this stamp set! The little holly was perfect to use as a background samp. I colored in the images with my watercolor pencil crayons. The stripes at the bottom is a piece of vellum that I found at the local Dollar Store. It went perfectly with this layout and Christmas theme!!
I can't wait to see what everyone else did with the set we had to work with...Candle Joy!! It was a perfect set for the holidays!! Here is what I did with the set:
