No Time To Make a Card because....

.... I was too busy taking pictures of the moon!!
It was a lunar eclipse last night and the conditions were perfect!! The sky was clear, the moon was full and the temperatures were not too cold to hang around outside.
We had a bit of a "Lunar Party". My son and I got all dressed up in our outdoor clothes, and went and played in the dark back yard while I photographed the moon changing. He doesn't have school today or tomorrow so it was a good
night for him to stay up late!!
I love how these photos came out!! The orange is too cool, and look, you can see the craters and everything!!
So, I'm sorry that there is no card this morning but this was a great opportunity that couldn't be missed. Who knows if the weather will cooperate in 2010 when the next lunar eclipse is supposed to happen!!
Have a great day....I think I might be singing "Total Eclipse of the Heart" for the rest of the day!!

I watched the lunar eclipse too. It was indeed awesome. I didn't stay outside, it was 16 and with the windchill it was like 6. Definitely not an opportunity to pass up, cards can wait! Great pictures.

Wasn't it cool? Did you have a telescope?? Did you see the "triangle" - the moon, Saturn, and Regulus??? (very cool stuff)

I don't blame you for grabbing a chance that might not come around again for many, many years! We had clear skies, too, and it was ever so cool to watch through the window. It was 7 degrees last night, and I'm a wimp!

These photos are terrific. My camera didn't do too hot when I tried taking pics.

Donelda, your pictures are gorgeous!! You need to tell me how you got such great photographs! It was cold and cloudy here, and I didn't want to be out in the cold hoping to see the eclipse. Your pictures make me feel like I got to see it for real!

Oh, these are SO cool. I tried to take some pictures, and even with the 16X zoom, they were too small. It was very cloudy here, and the moon had a really red glow. It was truly spectacular. Glad you were able to get some awesome pictures.
