Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday - Colourful Home-Made Stamp

Last week's Trigger Tuesday image from Moxie Fab was so crazy I knew I had to try it out!  I LOVED the pattern on that black and white douvet and I decided that it would make a great home-made stamp ... so I made one and used it on this card.

On my card I focused on the colours - black, white, turquoise, pink, gold and a small bit of orange!

See the black and white .. that image is my own!  I think it worked pretty good here.

Here is a close up of those great colours.  And that gold headboard is a sticker that a friend gave me.  I cut it in half and it worked perfectly. 

Of course today is Tuesday which means I am too late to actually load this up!  Some things just never change!!

I focused on the pink and brown colour combo and that pinked edge of the wrapper ....

My first time using Embellishments (PTI) looooovve these swirls!

Crafty Creations Challenge #146 - Woodgrain and Reds

Today I have a card that fits 2 challenges.  I mean, look at these two inspiration photos ... how could I not use them at the same time??!!  Same colours and lots of rustic wood!!

The photo on the left is the inspiration photo from Crafty Creations Challenges #146 - such charm.

The photo on the right is the inspiration photo from Moxie Fab World - Tuesday Trigger - red and rustic.

I started out with a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and using my Distress inks, created a woodgrain background.

I decided to use this sweet bird charm sent to me by one of my former Secret Sisters! 

 The reds and browns werecreated by using Distress inks direct to paper.  And I do love that burst punch by Martha Stewart!!

How could I resist!!

 I decided to go with the pink, yellow, and turquoise colours in the piece .. and then add the gold!!  The sentiment is actually heat embossed with gold.  That gold medallion is a gift from a friend - it is actually paper so it is light and pops up nicely on the card!!

Make It Monday - Trigger Tuesday - One Layer Wednesday

Hi Everyone. 

I wanted to play around with some challenges tonight and ... believe it or not ... I actually combined a few.  I usually am amazed at folks who do this but tonight the 3 challenges just kinda fell together.

First off, this delicious looking image, from Moxie Fab World's Trigger Tuesday, got my taste buds flowing.   Then, I was inspired by Nichole Heady's Make It Monday #35 to create some home-made washi tape.  This is a BRILLIANT idea ... I just cannot afford those yummy tapes (only own 1 roll at this point) so making my own is a great option.  And finally, the One Layer Wednesday #67 was to make a Thinking of You card and donate to a cause of their choice.

So the colours and the stripes come from the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger picture.  Yummy!  The strips are some home-made washi tape using Polka Dot Basics II and Background Basics: Stars (both Papertrey Ink).  The apple is from Teacher's Apple (Papertrey Ink).  The sentiment .. making it a "thinking of you" card ... is from Around and About Sentiments (also Papertrey Ink) which I love because you can create small sentiments.   I know the apple is popped up ... which means it is not "technically" a One Layer Card ... but it is close ... certainly close enough for me!!

Off to camp this weekend!  The last outting of the season.  The van will go away until next spring.

Trigger Tuesday - Blue Bird and Red Gingham

Anyone who drops by regularly will know that I LOVE red gingham!  So, when I saw the Trigger Tuesday inspiration picture from Moxie Fab World, I really wanted to play along.  Problem was ... when I looked, I didn't have a scrap of red gingham paper to use!   Can you believe it ... I couldn't!!! 

So, I had to create my own, which I did using Papertrey Ink's Faux Ribbon stamp set and some ColorBox red ink!  And check out the background paper ... a perfect match to the photo.  It came from the Seaside 8x8 paper pack (October Afternoon).

The bird is a Magenta chipboard bird covered with somelight blue paper and sponged with Broken China and Walnut Stain Distress inks.  Sentiment if from Bird Watching (Papertrey Ink).

Trigger Tuesday - Blue Flower

I almost never get to play with the Trigger Tuesday from Moxie Fab World ... but the stars and planets all aligned this week so .....

That flower took a lot of coloring!  Sheesh!!  Clearly I loved that flower on the pillow.  Used the turquoise and pale yellow colors.
