My Buddy (scrapbooking)

Hello!  I have a new scrapbook page to share with you today!

This page came together for a challenge from 2 peas.  Dear Lizzy challenged us to use a painted ombre technique.  If ombre is new to you, it means "dark to light" and is very popular right now in the scrapbooking world.  I love it!

For my ombre, I pulled out my twinkling H2Os.  Love them.  I used watercolour paper and cut it into 4 strips.  Painted the colours being sure to make them dark at one end and light at the other.  This became the bottom portion of my layout.

Then I added my 3 black and white photos (isn't he the cutest!) and a whole bunch of black and white embellishments!  I really like that swirly flourish at the bottome - it is from the For the Record sticker sheet (Lilly Bee).

Why don't you give ombre a try?!  Either use one of the many products already out there with this effect (papers, stickers, tags, brads, etc.)... or create your own like I did!  If you do, I'd love to see it!  Leave me a link.

Thanks for dropping by,
Donelda

Take 3 - Week of July 18 - take 3

Finally, Take 3 is here.  My favorite of all the cards I created with this Fiskars set.  There are a few things why I like this card.  One is that I think it is simple and elegant.  But more importantly are the people who I made it for.  You see, my nephew just got married and he and his lovely bride went to France for their honeymoon.  You can see where I am going with this!!! I think they will love it.

So there you have it ... another Take 3 challenge!!  Hope you enjoyed!

Take 3 - Week of July 18 - take 2

So here is Take 2 from this week's Take 3 challenge using the Fiskars clear stamp set called Travel.
Nothing like a circle to change things up a bit.
I love this windmill image.  And I adore these colors together!

And here is a close up of the cloud background.  I quickly cut a small cloud template
and sponged on some light blue ink.
Okay, so that is Take 2.  What could Take 3 look like??  Guess you'll have to drop back in tomorrow to see.  It is my favorite ... I can't wait to share it with you!!

Take 3 - Week of July 18 - take 1

Here is the latest Take 3 Challenge using a Fiskars clear stamp set called Travel.  A friend from work had been given it as a gift but since she is not a stamper and knows that I am she sold it to me for real cheap!!  I love cheap stamps!!  :-)

I created Take 1 for my mom.  She and her friend have been traveling these days so I thought I'd re-create this card for her.  I say re-create becasue I saw it somewhere ...but now that I am posting my version I am unable to find the original!  I really want to give credit so if anyone knows who originally created this card please leave me a comment and I'll edit this post.

So that is Take 1.  Stay tuned to see what Take 2 looks like.  But Take 3 is my favorite so you will need to return tomorrow and Wednesday to see them all!!

Travel Moos

So Carole over at Make a Moo or Two presented a new Moo challenge.  This time the theme is TRAVEL!  A friend of mine sold me this Fiskers travel clear stamp set for just a few dollars.  I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.  Some stamping and a little sponging was the ticket!

(Swirls are from Stampology, sentiments are from Papertrey Ink)

Thanks for dropping in tonight.

Au Revoir Mini Collage

I cased this idea from Susan Rihala's Splitcoaststamper Gallery that you can see HERE.  I had remembered it from a loooooong time ago.   I looked and looked and looked and finally found her card.

The sentiment was created using my computer!  The stamp is a real stamp!!!  I got it on a package I received from a blogging friend Dina.  While you can't see it well in this photo, there is some sponging around the edges which gives it a nice soft definined edge in real life.

Stamps - Background Basics: Text, Wedding Day, Polka Dot Basics(Papertrey Ink), Travel (Fiskars).

A very clean and simple card in many ways.
Thanks for dropping in.  Enjoy your day.
