Today is Lindsey's choice (see page 29 by Angeline Yong Jeet Leen)

I focused on the general layout....

These apple stickers are from the Picadilly paper pack (BasicGrey), which I ADORE!!!  Very little stamping, just the lovely sentiment (from Autumn Abundance, Papertrey Ink).

Now you need to head over to Lindsey's blog to see what she did with this inspiration card.
And, don't forget to drop back in tomorrow for my CASE choice.

Crafty Creations Challenge #163 - Game On!

Hello and welcome to Crafty Creations Challenge #163 - Game On!  That's right, the challenge is to create a card that deals with games (ball, board, or anything else).

Now let me tell you, I was really stumped on this one at first .. but then I started looking around and realized I did have a few sets that would help.  In the end, I created 3 different Clean And Simple cards using Toy Box (Stampin' Up - retired) and Boy Basics: Game On (Papertrey Ink).

Here is card #1 - a little 3x3 to give my wonderful son some inspiration at some point:

Card #2 ... a play off the ball in Toy Story ....

and Card #3, which I will probably save for my son's birthday which is quickly approaching!  Check that awesome graph paper ... downloaded it free HERE.

Like I said, I stuck to Clean and Simple, and all are very masculine cards - perfect for boys!

Okay, now off to check out and see what everyone else created.

Group 2:

and check out the
for cards that members of Group 1 might have added.

Now it is your turn.  Look around your crafting space ... think outside the box!!  Maybe you have some old dominos laying around or scabble pieces ... just think ... Bingo is a game, right .... (now I am just giving myself more ideas ... LOL!)

The Alley Way Stamps meets Cosmo Cricket

Playing around with more Alley Way Stamps.  This time I paired this cute butterfly with papers from the Boyfriend paper collection (Cosmo Cricket).  Love the striped paper in this kit!

Check the butterfly body .. coloured in with my Sukura glitter pen (which I rarely think to use .. why!  it is so glittery!!)

Love the clean graphic look of this card.

Spring - Stripes and Tulips

I love this package of designer paper that is all stripes and dots.

Here I've taken the bright pink stripes and created long panels.  I've also played on Dawn McVey's strategy shown on a Make it Monday video to take 1 small frame and use it to create a larger frame ... except I've done the same with 2 diecuts .. joining them to make 1 longer die cut.  The join is covered by the ribbon!

Tulip image is an inchie from Inkadinkado along with the peace sentiment.
Peace Out!

Crafty Creations Challenges #162 - Photo Inspiration - Happy Birthday Princess

Hello everyone.  This week's Crafty Creations Challenge #162 is Group 1's challenge but when I saw this lovely inspiration photo I just had to give it a go!!

I focused on the pink pattern with the little flowers, the banner in the background, and the gold crown.  Here is what I ended up with!

Very different from my typical style ...

A fun collage of items - embossed crown (French Country Postage - Gel a tins), hand-made rolled flower, little heart button!!

and this is only my 2nd time making a banner!

Now you need to go see what everyone else did with this great inspiration photo - go to Crafty Creations Challenges.  And then once you are inspired, give it a go to win from In 2 Stamps

Stretching Supplies

Hello!
A number of weeks ago on Make It Monday, Dawn McVey showed a snazzy idea of stretching your supplies .. specifically your frames or labels.  You simply stamp one image twice but then cover up the spot where they stamp beside each other to make it look like a bigger frame.  Here the butterfly and flower are covering up where the 2 are stamped on top of each other... but if you don't know that it just looks like a really big frame stamp.

I really like these colours: lavender moon, spring moss, white, and kraft.  It looks really fresh and springy to me!!

Alley Way Stamps - Zoom Zoom

A while back, I was so lucky to win the January release from Alley Way Stamps thanks to Barb's challenge!!  I adore all the cute stamps that I received and decided to pull them out and play a bit.

I love this cute little car so I did some paper piecing with it.  The zoom zoom is so perfect for us, we both own Mazda's!!  And the designer papers are from my friend Imke and is from the Boyfriend collection from Cosmo Cricket.  (thanks again Imke!)

I like the soft muted colours in all the elements so that the blue car stands out!

Wanted to play along with The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS) Inspiration Challenge #2.  Loved the colours ...

So I took the 5 colours and did some paper piecing to create a cute little scene using these little birdies.  One is from Snow Much Fun set and the other is from Priceless Joy set.

I used my new tumbled glass Distress Stain for the sky!  Love it!!

Off to see what everyone else did with this great inspiration piece.
Thanks for dropping by.

CAS-ual Friday #44 - Changito Wedding

Hey everyone!  I am back from my work trip and I had to get back in my craft room and create!!  I received this sweet image from Angela as part of a challenge swap I am in.  Sweet!!  I decided to use it for the Retro Sketches #2 challenge as well (but of course you know I'm too late to add it to the challenge .. sheesh!!)

And the final project also works for this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge #44 - to use a pattern, an image, and a sentiment ... and still keep it clean and simple.

I picked up this georgous paper from my local scrapbook store last week (Ring Around the Rosie by October Afternoon) and wanted to cut right into it (or I would just hoard it!! LOL).

I kept the whole thing clean and simple to allow the focus to be on the cute monkeys and that beautiful background paper.  The tearing and the texture on the strip of yellow paper adds just enough oomph.

And notice the boy monkey's tie ... he just looked too plain so I decided to give him one.  A bit of diamond stickles on his tie and her hair piece makes all the difference!!

Thanks for dropping by for a visit!

Chair-ished Friendship

I have participated in a great swap with a group of the greatest women!  The supplies for this card came from one of those lovely ladies - Imke!  Imke is such a sweetie!  And look how everything coordinates so well.  I LOVE that reverse scallop cut out!!  cool!!

Isn't that desinger paper the best, and check out the striped chair ... makes me want to curl up in it and read a great book!

Imke, I chair-ish our friendship!  Thanks so much my friend!!

Valentine Collage

While at my local scrapbooking store, I was trying really hard to just buy the necessities ... but couldn't help picking up a package of Echo Park paper - Victoria Garderns by Cassandra Cooper.  It is so beautiful and perfect for making Valentine cards!  I made this card a while ago (it went to my mom for Valentine's day) but haven't had a chance to load it up yet.

Such a different style for me.

The only stamping on this card is the sentiment from Beyond Basic Borders (Papertrey Ink).  That stamp was an element on one back side of a page, I just cut it out using my deco scissors to become a stamp!  The larger flower was from the sticker page.  The heart-shaped doily was from one of my former Secret Sisters (thanks Linda!).

So fun to play around with such lovely papers!!

Crafty Creations Challenge #161 - The Cow Jumped Over the Moon

This week at Crafty Creations Challenge #161 the challenge is to create project/card with your favourite childhood fairy tale character.  When I was little I had a clock that showed the cow jumping over the moon that I loved.  So, when I saw this image from Meljen's Designs Digital Stamps, I knew what I'd be doing!!

And here is a close up showing the dimension!

The little star on the sentiment banner is made from no bake clay cut with a small shape cutter.

Now you need to go check out what the rest of Design Team Group 2 did:

and check out the Crafty Creations Challenge blog where items will be posted by anyone from Design Team Group 1 who couldn't resist these lovely Mother Goose images as well.

Now it's your turn ... create an item that is inspire by your favourite childhood fairy tale character and link it up at Crafty Creations Challenges!!  See you there!!

Big Birthday Wishes

This week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge #43 is to make the sentiment the focal point ....

I think this qualifies ....

You all know how much I love to use up my scraps.  And lately, these banners for sentiments is a passion of mine ... the larger the better!!  And this is the first time I've inked up this BIG sentiment from Papertrey Ink  (Think Big Favorites #7).  I like the dot on the 'i' ... it started out as a Metallic Decor (Hero Arts) and silver ... but I painted it with my gold marker.

With a sentiment this big ... who needs other stuff on the card, it can stand alone!!  LOL!!

Thanks for dropping by,

Lucy's Digital Inspiration - Digital #1 - Friends

Lucy is one of my favourite card makers.  She is amazing with her digital know-how.  And this past week, she has been sharing her secrets!!  Today she announced a challenge "Create a card that features some kind of digital element - paper or stamps.  To be eligible to win the prize, please use a Hero Arts digital product"

Well, it is hard to create a card using a Hero Arts digital product when you haven't bought any .. but then I remembered this freebie Friends Definition from Hero Arts!  I hope that counts!

While my finished product is rather blahh ~~  I did have fun playing around.

First I loaded up the definition and then played around with colour and brightness.  Then, I added this coffee cup (free from Market Street) which was printed off on some free digital paper from Tricia Chapman called So Lucky.  I also printed out the heart on some free digital paper from Brandy Buffington called Boho Chic.  I used a bit of the leftover red digital paper for my sentiment flag as well.

A small bit of stamping (the coffee steam - Fancy Flourishes, Papertrey Ink and sentiment from Round and Round, Papertrey Ink)  a bit of twine (thanks Imke!!) and some Glossy Accents for the heart ... and voila, my first digital hybrid card following some of Lucy's great teaching tips!

Okay, now I have to go practice ... cause clearly I need more work to make it look good!!  LOL!!

Head over to Lucy's blog and learn a thing or two!!

Runway Inspired Challenge #7 - Anna Sui Inspired

Okay - so check out this inspiration piece from the Runway Inspired Challenge.   Wow, those are colours I would never, ever put together!  I figured that I would draw a big-o blank on this one ... but one particular stamp I own kept coming to mind ....

and I ended up with this card.  Clearly, I focused on the pattern of the dress, the colours, and the red frill.

Hope you have a great week.

Moxie Fab Challenge - Cure For the Winter Blues

Just squeezing this Multi-Blue and white card in for Moxie Fab World's challege - Cure For the Winter Blues.

It features another one of my home-made stamps - 'Military Chevron' stamped in rows using various shades of blue.  The whole overall design was stolen borrowed from Jennifer McGuire's card shown in THIS POST.  I accented the whole thing with some white feathers, apaper flowers from American Crafts, a paper flower (from my stash) and a few half pearls scattered around.

I love working with feathers!

Thank You ... Imke!

This card was created for 2 reasons ....
1) to use up these great letters that Imke sent me ... she is such a thoughtful friend (thanks Imke!!)
and 2) to use that increadible BasicGrey wooden button ... see it on the left?!  Amazing!!

I found this great paper at my local Dollar Store.  It is really neat.  Very soft, almost like cloth.
I can hardly believe I actually used one of those buttons  and didn't hoard the whole package ... just 5 more left .... what will I do with them??

Thanks for dropping by.

Crafty Creative Challenges - Stripes and a Colourful Thanks

This week at Crafty Creative Challenges Design Team 1 were working on Stripes this week.  Well, I love stripes so I just had to play along as well!!

I love the big bold look of this focal image I created by piecing strips of the specified coloured cardstock onto a diecut iamge (borrowed from Little Princess Cards site seen HERE).  Then, this great sentiment (Friends are Treasures - Hero Arts) was added on top.  The flourishes are from a set called Build Your Own Flourish (Gel a tins).  That black really pops off of all that colour!  I will definately be doing this again!
Thanks for visiting

One Layer Wednesday (OLW) #81 - Cream, Black, and Bling

Jennifer set this week's One Layer Wednesday (OLW) challenge # 81 to use Cream, Black, and Bling.  Wow - this really stumped me!!  I just don't use cream that often so I kept having a big block ... until I polled out my new-to-me Mehndi Medallion stamp set (Papertrey Ink) ....

You will note that there is 1 black bling (half rhinstone) and 4 other regular rhinstones in the middles of the bigger medallions.

Love this set!!  So worth the $5!

Tulip Baby Welcome

Hi everyone!
I tend not to combine challenges and then, if I'm ever brilliant enough to do so it is usually a maximum of 2 different challenges.  So you can imagine my surprise when I realized that I could combine 4 different challenges without my head exploding!  LOL!

First up, the CAS-ual Fridays challenge was to make a baby card. Also, Use it Tuesday's challenge is also to make a baby card - in celebration of Heather's new arrival Clarie!  As it just so happens, I need one!

Then I saw these lovely soft colours on the Play Date Cafe challenge ... that would work!

and finally over at Our Creative Corner the challenge is Over the Edge, which I love but rarely think to do....(and I see I am too late to link it up for the challenge ... sigh!)

In the end, it all came together with this card:

Featuring 2 of my own hand-created stamps.  The background image is a new one - a starburst of sorts, and then my flower image - which I think can be used as a rose (see yesterday's card) or as a tulip as shown here.  It also features my home-made template for the Sahara Sand (Stampin' Up!) panel across the front (looks way more kraft in the image but is a much softer sand colour in real life!).

Here is a close up of the dimension.  Senitment if from Round and Round (Papertrey Ink anniversary stamp set).

This card was so much fun to make!!! Now I'm off to load it up and check out what all the other challenge go'ers made with these challenges.

Home-made Rubber Stamps #7 - Flower and Stem

Okay, so today I am showcasing my favourite home-made stamps to date.  Yup, I hand carved that flower and that stem.  They are seperate images.  I could use them seperately or together like I've done here.

I had used Hibiscus Burst ink for the flowers ... and when I added the strip of Hibiscus Burst paper it was SO much brighter (probably because I am waiting - not so patiently - to purchase the new PTI ink as the old pads are getting dry).  So to fix the problem, I layered the pink cardstock with a bit of vellum punched with a scallop edge.

It's true, I am totally addicted to creating my own stamps.  It is nice to be able to create something I want without having to purchase it or wait for it.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

Home-made Rubber Stamps #6 - Smiley Face

Isn't this a FUN card!  Wouldn't it bring a smile to anyone's face!  I think so.
And that perfect sentimet is from Hero Arts!

and the smiley face is a home-made stamp.  I stamped it in black ink and then used the largest single dot in Polka Dot Basics (Papertrey Ink) to fill in the smile with yellow ink.  These papers are from an Echo Park 12 x 12 pack called Dots & Stripes.  It has various papers of dots and stripes in this yellow and also in brown, blue, orange, and a soft and a bright pink.  What a great collection of papers!!

Thanks for joining me today!!
