For the last 3 lessons, I've been exploring the idea of heirarchy in a visual layout. The visual heirarchy is the idea that your eye is drawn to the item that is at the "top" of the visual heirarchy and then moves to the supporting elements. We have already explored how this element at the top of the heirarchy can be there because of it's size and also because of it's color. Well, today we are going to consider an item that is the most conceptually intriguing element.
I've got to say that this card was so much fun to make. Look at that stamp image....it is actually one of my crocuses that grew in my garden last spring! There is this great web site that allows you to take images and frame them, including a stamp frame! When you look at this card, there are lots of rectangles, but the most intriguing element is clearly the
stamp (on which I applied the cracked glass technique). When your eye looks at this card, what is your eye instantly drawn to?? For me, it is that stamp - hands down!!
