Image Swap - April

Hello!  Today I am sharing the card I created for a swap I am in.  This image, from Tanja is so cute.  She added the challenge to use red and blue, which I think was a perfect choice for the image.

While you can't see it in the photo, the stars are all painted with Twinkling H2O and looks really shimmery in real life!

And see my sentiment bubble ... made with felt!  So fun!!

Thanks for dropping by.

Christmas cards - Post 7

Today is finally Christmas Eve!  This is actually my favourite day of the year!  I love this day even more than Christmas.... because it's the anticipation that I love so much!! I love to watch my wonderful son getting excited, delivering gifts to his friends, having trouble falling asleep ... all of it is so special!  Tomorrow all the gifts get opened and then, all of a sudden, it's a whole year until we get to experience the anticipation of this day again.

This card was made almost entirely from items sent to me from my most recent Secret Sister, Imke.  She was so sweet and die cut some of these wonderful PTI trees for me from felt.  She also sent me this increadible Martha Stewart punch!  And the paper was in a package from her as well!  It all came together to create such a lovely card.  Thanks again Imke!!

Here is a close up of the cardinal.  I sponged around the edges with some Fired Brick distress ink to give it added definition and allow the wing to stand out.

I hope you all have a very peaceful Christmas Eve spent with friends and family.  Thank you to everyone who has visited me here on my blog over this last year.  I appreciate your kind words about my work and your inspiration!  I will be taking a bit of a break over the next few days but will be back to share new creations soon!

Merry Christmas,
Donelda

Loonie Stamper's Challenge - #93 - Felt - Teacher Apple

It's that time of year, when school is winding down and time to think about thanking our teachers for all the work they did with our children. So, when I saw that the Loonie Challenge this week was to use felt I decided to try punching a piece of red felt.
I heat embossed the apple outline onto black paper. Then I added the blue strip of paper that was punched with my Bind It All (Zutter). I punched a circle out of some grid paper (no name on the paper, sorry) to hold my focal. The apple was punched (Martha Stewart) out of some red felt. The little button came from a set of square buttons (Making Memories I think). Finally, the sentiment - simple and straight forward!!
Stamps Used: Teacher's Apple (Papertrey Ink).
I can't wait to see what the Loonie Girls did with their felt ...
Thanks for dropping in ... again!!

Hi Birdie Friend

I love this guy!!! I've had this awesome bag of feather's pulled out and thinking that I really wanted to make something with them!! I didn't have any stamp sets with birds in it big enough that would accommodate the feathers...so I needed to put on my thinking cap. But then, I was browsing Kristina's blog (kwernerdesign) I came across these fun little birdies and I knew I'd have to use this great idea!! I drew a similar bird on paper and then used it as a guide to cut the orange fabric. It is that warm fabric that you can make stuffed animals and hats and such with...I can't remember what it is called just at the moment! Anyway, after cutting out the bird, I selected just the right feathers for the tail and a wing. I glued them into the fabric using some Crystal Effects (SU). Then, as it dried, I worked on the rest of the card. I attached the strip of orange plaid and brown cardstock onto a Creamy Caramel base. I stamped the sentiement with Chocolate Chip ink. See the dots of the letter i's ... I wanted something funky so I used those double circles!! Finally, I attached the bird, drew in his eye and feet and Voila, he is ready!!! Supplies: Cardstock-Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip (SU), plaid (unknown); Ink-Chocolate Chip (SU); Stamps-Beautiful Blooms, Borders & Corners {Square 'I think'} (Papertrey Ink), Accessories-feathers, chocolate chip marker (SU), Crystal Effects (SU). Thanks for visiting!
