Opposites - Black and White

I made these a while ago and haven't gotten a chance to post them. They were a lot of fun to make. I stamped the image onto a transparency and then, when dry, covered the back with double sided tape. Then, I added white Pearl Ex powder and varios purple and blue glitters. The glitter is a bit hard to see but if you click on the picture it should get bigger and then you will see it better. Then I adheared one to a piece of black cardstock and the other to a piece of white cardstock. You can see how different it looks on either color!! The rest of the cards are straight forward! Supplies: Stamps - Small Things (smARTworks); Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black (Stampin' Up!); Ink - Basic Black, Versamark, (Stampin' Up!), Jet Black (StazOn); Other - double sided tape (Sookwang), transparency, white embossing powder, Pearl Ex (Stampin' Up!), glitter (Ritz), purple and blue gingham ribbons (Michaels). Thanks for dropping in. Donelda

New Toys - Glitter and Tape

I went to a stamp show in Airdrie and walked out with a ton of new toys!! Some of them are featured on these cards!
I met up with a few SCS friends there, Chris and Lorinna. So I decided to sent them a card to say thanks for meeting up with me.
I made the panel on here using my new Sookwang tape. I stamped my new Memory Box image with StazOn ink onto the non sticky side of the tape. Edited - oops, this is double sided tape....what was I thinking?? What I really did was I adhered the tape onto a piece of transparency, then stamped the image onto the transparency. Once that dried, I flipped over the tape/transparancy piece and pulled off the backing. Then I smudged on some blue and red Pearl Ex powder. As I was doing this, I added a little bit of glitter!! Unfortunately, you can't really see that in the big picture so I added a close up where
you can kinda see the glitter. Then I backed it with a piece of black cardstock which also provided a mat.

Supplies: Cardstock-blue (unknown maybe Bazzill), Whisper White, Basic Black (SU!); Ink-StazOn Jet Black, Basic Black (SU!), Versamark; Stamps-Simple Little Things (Papertrey Ink), large bird and branch (Memory Box), Of a Feather (Memory Box); Other-Pearl Ex powders (SU!), Glitter (Jewel Glitter Ritz), tape (Sookwang) and transparency too (unknown).

Well thanks for visiting.

Glitter Fun!

I went to a fun stamping event today and bought a whole bunch of new toys to go with my new Papertrey Ink stamps and Stampin' Up stuff. Now, I am really going to have to go on a spending freeze. It is time to use up all that I have gathered.

I met up with my friend Chris (Catt871) and her friend tiggeriffic and we had lots of fun enabling each other to buy stuff (but I do think I was the worst!! Sorry ladies).

One of the techniques that everyone seemed to be demonstrating is using Sookwang tape and Glitter Ritz. What fun! If you haven't tried this yet, you really have to give it a go.

Here is my first attempt at the technique. You use the tape to stick the glitter...and the backing from the tape is used like stencils...either positive or negative. You can punch or cut images out. The possibilities are endless.

Note that the card is very hard to photograph. The background glitter is all black with these different sized and colored circles (in the photo, it looks like there are lighter colors in the black, but there is not in real life).

The card is fairly straight forward. I made the glitter background, cut it to size and used my ticket punch on the corners. Adheared this to a piece of green cardstock and added some bling to the corners. The sentiment was stamped with black onto more of the green cardstock and adhered to the glitter background. I used Tombow Monoglue which worked well.

Supplies: Stamps-Simple Little Things (Papertrey Ink), Cardstock-Green Galore, Whisper White {this is what the glitter background is on} (Stampin' Up), Ink-Basic Black (Stampin' Up), Accessories-Tape (Sookwang), Glitter (Jewel Glitter Ritz), ticket corner punch (Stampin' Up), rhinstones (unknown from Michaels).

You can be sure to see more of these glittery cards in the future.
Thanks for visiting.
