Inspiration Challenge - Tall Celebrate

Since I am still on vacation, I have been able to play in a bunch of challenges that I don't usually get to do! Today I decided to try the SCS Inspiration Challenge #192 where we were given the Bellacor section on a home furnishing site and asked to use one fo the vases as inspriation. Well, this was totally easy for me once I saw this crazy vase!! I had bought this little stamp a few weeks ago and was anxious to use it!! Do you think it was a perfect match...or what!!?? The background is made using my very neglected Fun With Shapes set from Stampin' Up (retired). I also thought it would be cute to have the sentiment running up his body to emphasize the tallness of the image. Recently I have found Lucy's blog and noticed that she uses the greatest "string" but I couldn't figure out what kind it was. She was kind enough to leave me a message and tell me it is crochet yarn. I love it!! and tied some around the bottom of the focal image. Inspiration Challenge #160

The Saturday Inspiration Challenge #160 over at Splitcoaststampers was to use the web-based store of MacKenzie-Childs. Well, I popped over to the link and saw the picture of this chair on the main page....and I just knew I had to make a card using it as inspiraiton!! It was just so funky great!!

I started out with the blue and added the harliquin diamonds with a darker blue. The the dots...they were a bit tricky. To get the yellow, I stamped the red cardstock with white craft ink, let it dry and then painted some yellow over top. The black and white was done with white embossing on black cardstock. The yellow is color on color!! I sliced up all my pieces and adheared them down. Then, I cut this label by hand and added this great sentiment. The little embellishment is a bracelet piece but it has these big bumps on the back (where the elastic would go). So, I sliced a hole in the lable so that the bumps would go into the cardstock and glued it down. I adheared the label using dimensionals to accomoadate for the bumps!!

Well, not sure if I like the card in the end but it was a ton of fun to make!! And I have left over scraps so you will likely see them appear on a future card!!

Multiple Challenge Card - IC144, Beate #56, LSC#6

Wow!! Do you believe that I actually managed to put 3 challenges together when creating this card??!! I did and it was a ton of fun!

It started out this morning when I saw the Inspiration Challenge #144 by SmilynStef on Splitcoaststampers. She gave us a link the the most AMAZING site as well as some specific thumbnails and asked us to use them as inspiration. They were the most amazing pictures of animals!! I loved them all!! In fact, I've made a few other samples with animals that you will be seeing soon!! Just last week I picked up this great package of animal dies from Martha Stewart. They have the coolest animals, like cows, horses, a cat, goats, roosters, chicks, monkeys, dolphins, and a whole bunch more (I looked but couldn't find a pic to show you). Of course, I just can't stand to part with any of them (okay, maybe the orangutan can be used) but the rest I have made copies onto light cardboard and covered them with designer paper!!

Then I saw Beate's weekend sketch challenge #56...and knew I wanted to use it for the card layout. I did make a few changes. Instead of an inside layer as suggested in the sketch, I included that element by having score lines! It was a creative way to keep my card clean and simple while still keeping to the layout!

Finally, the Loonie Stampers had posted the 6th Loonie Stamper's Challenge and that is where I got the colors ... Dark Chocolate, Poppy Red, and Summer Sunrise ... what a great warm color combo choosen by Regan. You have to see Dee's, Jewels, and Char's cards as well!! Mind you, I had to substitute a few!

Supplies: Paper-Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink); red (maybe Bazzill), Chocolate chip (SU!); Ink - Chocolate Chip (SU!), Stamps - Father Knows Best (Papertrey Ink); Other-Chipboard animal for tracing (from Martha Stewart purchased at Michaels), hemp, popsicle stick, dimensionals, sponge, my Pampered Chef scrapper to make score lines.
